So. Something “about” me – huh? I think it’s a bit redundant since this blog is basically all about me; at least what I am thinking about, find amusing, interesting, disgusting, what-have-you. But let’s give a quick overview:
- Woman in mid-life (really, this is a
suckygreat stage of life…..REALLY!) - Married for almost 39 years (yes, I WAS a child bride, thanks for asking) to my best friend
- Two grown children and six grandchildren
- Hail from New England and love it, except for the dark, gray, cold winters
- LONG to live AT the ocean and not 4-5 miles inland
- Inordinate fear of heights, speed, amusements rides, motion & flying (clearly a Sensory Integration problem that I’ve learned to live with by this point in life)
- I <heart> music – it is my passion. A little bit country and a little bit rock & roll. Not that I can play much (or heaven forbid, sing at all) but I know good music when I hear it
- I love going to see musicians and singer-songwriters perform LIVE as much as possible
- I am an expert “chair-dancer” as a result of #8
- Some would say I am obsessed with music – but I prefer to call it an “enthusiastic connoisseur”
- In my copious amounts of spare time I like to read (yes, books) and go online, and I have varied interests in history, cultural anthropology, ethnic food & cooking, gardening, floral design, hand crafts, graphic design and photography
- I am passionate about social justice issues such as health care (universal), child welfare, poverty and economic injustice and LGBT rights
- I love animals – all kinds – but I am a “cat person” at heart. We have two at present: Benny & Joon. I will probably be an old crazy cat lady some day in the very far-off future
- We also have a
bear, amoose, asofa, a dog. All 130ish pounds of a Bernese Mountain dog. I wanted a small dog I could bathe in the kitchen sink. This is a “don’t ask – don’t tell” situation. - Dark chocolate only, thanks.
